The attention of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Russian Federation has been drawn to a report by RBC Novosibirsk, in which the report stated “that he (the Ambassador) added that the presence of the delegation at the Forum (Technoprom) is an expression of the support both for the actions of the Russian Federation and directly for the actions of the Regional Government.” The Embassy dissociates itself entirely from this statement, as it is unclear what actions the reporter referred to.

Nevertheless, the Nigerian Ambassador, Prof. Abdullahi Shehu, upon invitation to the IX Technoprom Forum held in Novosibirsk on 24th August, 2022, met with H.E Andrei Travnikov Governor of Novosibirsk and discussed beneficial bilateral cooperation between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Russian Federation, including support to Nigeria in the areas of economic investment, education, science and technology.

The Ambassador noted Russia’s goal of creating a multipolar world but restated Nigeria’s policy of non alignment in international relations.
On this note, the Embassy wishes to further reiterate Nigeria’s commitment towards robost bilateral relations with Russian Federation, as well as international cooperation, conducive for global peace and harmony.
