the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation ORGANIZES IFTAR RECEPTION FOR AMBASSADORS AND HEADS OF DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS IN MOSCOW
Today, 27th March, 2023 H.E. Professor Abdullahi SHEHU attended an Iftar reception organized by Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the Chief Imam of Moscow Cathedral Mosque and Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation. The Iftar was attended by Ambassadors and Heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Russian Federation.
In his speech, the Chief Imam gave a brief history of Islam in the Russian Federation and underscored the important role it has been playing in serving humanity. He also spoke of the close ties between the Russian federation and member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the world as a whole.
While presenting the Chief Imam with a souvenir, Ambassador SHEHU thanked the Mufty for the invitation and highlighted that Nigeria will continue, under the aegis of OIC, to contribute towards maintaining peace, stability and progress of the Muslim community and the world at large.
