PRESS RELEASE

The Expo-Park Exhibition Projects organized the 20th edition of the International Fair of Classical, Modern and Jewelry Art at Gostiny Dvor, Moscow, Russia from 19 – 23 April 2023. The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Moscow was the Special Guest Country at the Fair. 
   The Fair featured artworks spanning several centuries from iconography and classical painting to the work of contemporary artists. The Fair also highlighted conceptual art, contemporary photography and sculpture, collectible design, kinetic, as well as digital art. Indeed, as the Special Guest Country, the Fair witnessed the display of artworks of young Nigerian artists such as Raji Bamidele, Oluwaseyi Alabi, Josephine Uchechukwu Williams, Ugonma Chibuzo and Vivian Ifionu. 
  Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Fair, Professor Abdullahi Y. SHEHU, Ambassador of Nigeria to the Russian Federation acknowledged the long-standing and deep history of friendship between Nigeria and the Russian Federation. He expressed appreciation to the organizers of the Fair for honouring Nigeria with the status of Special Guest Country, noting that it was a way of strengthening the cordial relations between Nigeria and Russia through cultural diplomacy. 
   Responding, Mr. Vasiliy Bychkov, the founder and CEO of Expo-Park Exhibition Projects described the Embassy as a valued partner of Expo- Park. He acknowledged the robust relations between Russia and Nigeria. Finally, he expressed readiness of Expo-Park to partner with the Embassy in organizing future events that are aimed at showcasing the deepness and richness of the Russian – Nigerian cultural relations.   
   Without doubt, the Fair presented a unique platform for the two countries to use creative arts as a way of strengthening the subsisting bilateral relations. The event witnessed the exposition of more than 150 Russian and foreign galleries, as well as the participation of senior statesmen, art collectors, museum officials, and members of the diplomatic corps.
